GENERAL PROCEDURE FOR COMPUTER HEALTH
1. Run one program at a time. Close the program when finished.
2. At the end of the day, log off and close all programs before “Shutdown”.
3. Three programs need to run once a week or when the computer starts to slow down, which ever comes first.
4. The programs are AD-aware, Spybot, and Bitdefender (BD).
5. They may be run one right after the other or one at a time on different
days. Complete all each week.
6. When running these programs, make sure that all other programs
are closed, especially STI.
7. Before running AD-aware and Spybot, disable Bitdefender and the Screen
Saver. (See “Disable and Enable Bitdenfender” and “Disable and Enable Screen
Saver”).
8. Run AD-aware first, Spybot next, and BD last.
9. Remember to “Enable” BD before running it.
10. After running all programs,
activate the screen saver again. (See “Disable and Enable Screen Saver”).
11. Once a month, delete the
Temporary Internet Files. (See “Deleting Temporary Internet Files”).
12. Take the time to learn about the computer.
13. Call a Tech if you need help with instructions.
Note: The Grenada School
District has grown tremendously over the past few years and has become one the
leaders in the State of Mississippi and nation. The computer system has also
grown to make tasks easier and completion of tasks faster. This means that
everyone is able to stay on task longer, and students learn more quickly.
