Recently, the students at Grenada Elementary School welcomed visiting author, Eddie Bowman, also known as “Chester Drawers.” Bowman is an author, entertainer, and motivational speaker from southwest Missouri. He uses interesting visual aids to inspire children to do their best while striving for worthwhile goals. Bowman explained, “I believe that good values are essential for happiness and success.”
Bowman has been a part of the entertainment scene in Branson, Missouri, appearing as Chester Drawers, the hillbilly comic. “Chester” brought his guitar to entertain the students with songs that relate to his book characters. Students were able to learn these songs in music class with their instructors Meg Wood and Amy Killebrew, so that they were able to sing along during Chester’s show. Bowman’s books were for sale after the show, and students could come by to meet the author and have their book autographed.
