Every aspiring athlete has the opportunity to participate in a competitive sports program in the Grenada Schools. The wide variety of athletic programs provides the individual student with the option to select from numerous sports.
The Charger Athletic program is the occupant of an 8,000 square foot athletic field house, opened in 1999. The multi-purpose structure houses three dressing rooms, a state-of-the-art weight room, and coaches' offices.
Expectations of success run deep at Grenada High School. Past team state championships include girls' track, slow-pitch softball, boys' basketball, and powerlifting. Individual state champions are found in tennis, boys' track, and power-lifting. Teams in other sports annually compete deep into the state playoffs.
For the younger student interscholastic competition is provided at the middle school in football, soccer, basketball, softball, track, tennis, baseball, and golf. Participation in a variety of programs is encouraged by both coaches and administrators, nurturing qualities of responsibility, leadership, and good sportsmanship.
